Malik Ducard hasbeen promoted to vice president of worldwide business development andacquisitions at MGM Home Entertainment.

In his new roleDucard will spearhead the division's global acquisition projects, targetingdomestic and international features and domestic family-oriented programmingwith particular emphasis on the direct-to-video market.

He will alsooversee library valuation and acquisition efforts as well as possible venturesinvolving MGM's entertainment holdings.

"Malik hassuccessfully teamed MGM with impressive partners and shown an innate ability tochoose titles and brands that suit our acquisition strategies," homeentertainment president David Bishop said in a statement.

"Theseattributes will be of particular value as we seek more content to fill outgrowing number of distribution channels."

Ducard joinedthe company in 2000 as director of strategic and financial planning and waspromoted two years later to executive director

Prior to joininghe worked at Goldman Sachs, Union Bank California and Young & Rubicam.
