Los Angeles-based Inferno Entertainment has announced the appointment of its CEO and president.

Jeffrey Edell has been named president and CEO of Los Angeles-based Inferno Entertainment.

Edell will focus his efforts on guiding Inferno’s expansion from a traditional independent production, finance and sales entity into a broad-based media entertainment company.

He is the former chairman of MySpace parent company Intermix Media and most recently served as president and COO of DIC Entertainment, the largest independent producer of children’s entertainment properties in the US.

“The ever-evolving new media landscape calls for a new kind of media company,” Inferno co-founders and co-chairmen Bill Johnson and Jim Seibel said in a joint statement. “Jeff’s experience in building industry-leading companies, along with his vision for marrying new media and technology with entertainment further strengthens Inferno’s growth opportunities.”
