In a new departure for the organisation, European Film Promotion is to present five foreign language film Oscar submissions to buyers as part of its sixth New York 'Industry Screenings,' which take place in New York on November 12th and 13th.

The Oscar candidates from Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Norway and Denmark will all be showcased.

The films screening are: from Belgium, Nic Balthazar's Ben X on Films Distribution's AFM slate; from Holland, Jos Stelling's Duska from Eyeworks Egmond Film; from Switzerland, Bettina Oberli's Late Bloomers on Telepool's slate here; from Norway, Gone With The Woman sold by AB Svensk and from Denmark, The Art of Crying also sold by AB Svensk.

'A true indicator of the success of this programme is that at each session of screenings in 2005 and 2006 at least one film was sold to a prospective US distributor,' commented EFP's Claudia Landsberger. 'And for our European Foreign Language Oscar Entries it's the perfect moment to showcase them in New York.'

The EFP screenings take place at the Tribeca Grand Hotel.
