Elijah Wood will lead an all-star ensemble on Focus Features' upcoming
animated epic 9 from Shane Acker, which is currently in production.

Joining Wood on the voice cast are Jennifer Connelly, John C Reilly,
Martin Landau, Christopher Plummer, and Crispin Glover.

Tim Burton is producing with Timur Bekmambetov, the Russian creator of
the Night Watch series, and Jim Lemley.

Pamela Pettler, who wrote Monster House and collaborated with Burton
on Corpse Bride, wrote the screenplay.

Focus' creative executive David Gerson is overseeing the project for
production chief John Lyons. Focus is fully financing the project and
handles worldwide sales.

9 is a feature-length expansion of Acker's short film of the same
name, and takes place in a parallel universe where a race of oppressed
rag dolls fights for survival.

'This exciting and thought-provoking story has already drawn a strong
film-making team together to work with Shane in bringing his visionary
fantasy world to life,' Focus' chief executive officer James Schamus
said.

'These splendid actors will provide compelling characterisations to go
with the visual brilliance.'
