VMI Worldwide announced on Thursday (Nov 1) that it licensed rights on the Sean Bean thriller prior to the market for the US, UK, France, Germany, Australia and Scandinavia.

Brad Turner is scheduled to start shooting the post-apocalyptic tale in February 2013. Scorched Earth takes place after an environmental collapse as a bounty hunter pursues a fearsome criminal.

Kevin Leeson and Jamie Goehring produced and Shawn Williamson and Daniel Zirilli will serve as executive producers.

Andre Relis of VMI Worldwide negotiated the deal with eOne vp of worldwide acquisitions Sejin Croninger.
