India's Eros International has released Hindi comedy Heyy Babyy on Blu-ray, marking the first global release of a Bollywood film on the format. The film is the first of a slate of planned Blu-ray releases by Eros.
Heyy Babyy, directed by Sajid Khan and starring Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Ritesh Deshmukh and Fardeen Khan, will be followed by Om Shanti Om starring Shah Rukh Khan.
Heyy Babyy has been mastered directly from the negative digital source under the supervision of Sajid Khan, with upgraded picture and sound. In addition to the film, the disc includes extra features and a four-hour in-depth documentary style feature on the making of a Bollywood film.
The discs are available through www.erosentertainment.com and will soon be available in retail stores throughout India, the UK, US and Canada.

Besides Om Shanti Om we will also be releasing many of our all- time classics,' said Eros' EVP, corporate development and Eros New Media, Marcus Stuart Vannini.
Eros releases about 30-40 new films every year and boasts a film library of more than 2,000 titles.
