The US premieresof Tommy Lee Jones' redemption saga The Three Burials Of Melquiades Estrada and Roger Donaldson's The World'sFastest Indian will beAFI FEST 2005's centerpiece galas on Nov 7 and 8.

Specialscreenings include Stephen Frears' period drama Mrs Henderson Presents, Michael Winterbottom's comedy TristramShandy: A Cock And Bull Story, Neil Jordan's transvestite drama Breakfast On Pluto, Roger Spottiswoode's thriller RipleyUnder Ground, and AndyGarcia's directorial debut The Lost City.

All in all the roster comprises 92 features and 35 shortsfrom 40 countries, of which 20 features are world premieres, 22 are NorthAmerican premieres, and 18 are US premieres.

As previouslyannounced, James Mangold's Johnny Cash biopic Walk The Line will open the festival and LasseHallstrom's Casanovais the closing night gala.

Of the line-up,nine titles are representing their countries as foreign language Oscarsubmissions, including Gavin Hood's Tsotsi (South Africa), Michael Haneke's Hidden (Austria), Jean-Marc Vallee's C.R.A.Z.Y. (Canada), Christian Carion's MerryChristmas (France), andLajos Koltai's Fateless(Hungary).

Among theentries in the international feature competition are Alberto Rodriguez'sSpanish rites of passage drama 7 Virgins, Richard Bracewell's UK drama The Gigolos, and Eduardo Raspo's Argentiniancoming-of-age tale Tattooed.

Internationaldocumentary titles include Jessica Sanders' After Innocence, Sabina Yajraca and Ali Hanson's BackTo Bosnia, Damon Brown'sBurning Man: Beyond Black Rock, and Steve Anderson's Fuck.

The AmericanDirections programme features Lorene Machado's road movie Bam Bam AndCeleste, Azazel Jacobs'drama The Good Times Kid, Tom Zuber's teen movie Little Athens, and Jeff Stanzler's revenge drama Sorry,Haters.

Other programmesinclude Asia new Classics, European Showcase, Latin Cinema Series, New Faces InEuropean Cinemas, shorts, and a special presentation of Elia Kazan's New Dealdrama Wild River.
