Emily Watson, Tom Wilkinson and Rupert Everett will lead the cast in Julian Fellowes' directorial debut, A Way Through The Woods.

Watson, who starred in Lars Von Triers Breaking The Waves, takes the role of Anne, happily married to James( Wilkinson,) until the arrival of Bill (Everett) turns their idyllic village life upside down.

The Oscar- winning writer who won a coveted statuette for his screen play for Robert Altman's Gosford Park last year, will start shooting the film in London and Paris next week under the auspices of Oscar-nominated cinematographer Tony Pierce-Roberts.

"This is a story about lucky people who ought to be happy but aren't. It's a moral maze and I only hope that couples leave the cinema arguing over who was in the right. I wrote it and I'm going to direct it and I know I can't decide," Fellowes said.

The film is being backed by UK compnay Complete Communications, perhaps best known as rights holders of international TV quiz show hit Who Wants To Be A Millionaire' Complete subsidiary Celador Films recently produced Stephen Frears' Dirty Pretty Things.
