Patrick Ewald's newly launched Epic Pictures Group makes it market debut at AFM with a slate of nine films that includes the Sundance selection The Good Life with Zooey Deschanel and horror tale Blood River from The Devil's Chair director Adam Mason.

Former Renegade Worldwide president Ewald set up the finance, production and distribution company with backing from a group of Southern California real estate moguls.

Former Renegade director of sales and acquisitions Shaked Berenson joins as vice president of sales and acquisitions, and Tannaz Anisi arrives from Mainline Releasing/Lightning Entertainment as a sales consultant.

The slate also includes the true-life heavyweight boxing drama Carnera from Renzo Martinelli, which stars F Murray Abraham and Paul Sorvino and is in post-production.

Completed titles include the fighter pilot documentary Speed Angels, the drama Young Rebels with Chris Klein and Billy Baldwin, and the comedy Killer Pad from the producers of Dude, Where's My Car'

Rounding out the line-up are the completed comedies National Lampoon's Spring Break and Meet The Mobsters, and completed horror film Gen.
