Patrick Ewald's Epic Pictures Group has picked up international sales on the comedy Finding Amanda with Matthew Broderick, Brittany Snow and Steven Coogan.

Screenwriter Peter Tolan directed the semi-autobiographical story of a drinking and gambling TV producer who tries to win back his family. Wayne Rice and Richie Heller produced and financed through their company Capacity Pictures.

Epic CEO Ewald and vice president Shaked Berenson brokered the deal with Rice and Heller. The film premiered at New York's Tribeca Film Festival and Magnolia has scheduled a US release for June 27.

'Finding Amanda is a fresh and edgy comedy that makes you laugh and cry at the same time,' Ewald said. 'Peter Tolan, the brilliant writer behind Analyze This and Analyze That, shows a steady hand as director, perfectly balancing the humour so that you really care for Broderick and Snow - it is a sophisticated and entertaining movie for all audiences.'

Epic's Cannes slate includes the Samantha Morton and Jason Patric romantic comedy Expired, which launched at Sundance last year; comedy-horror Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer with Robert Englund; and true-life horror Cradle Will Fall.
