Nario brings a versatile background in international film promotion, market analysis and IP-related litigation and transactions (gained at London-based law firm Hogan Lovells) to her current role in film sales.

“I combined my legal background with my passion for storytelling by working as an IP lawyer before moving to Los Angeles,” says Nario. There, she joined the Spanish Trade Commission (ICEX) in 2020, adding direct industry experience, before joining Filmax’s sales department in 2023, where she works under head of sales Ivan Diaz.

“I admire his expertise and the freedom he gave me,” she says. “Filmax’s bold, risk-taking philosophy inspires me. I love blending commercial and creative work, especially in marketing.”

Some of the projects Nario has recently worked on include Patricia Font’s The Teacher Who Promised The Sea, Laura Casabe’s The Virgin Of The Quarry Lake and Cesc Gay’s upcoming romantic comedy My Friend Eva.

“I’m at a great point in my career, doing what I love,” enthuses Nario. “I still land in Cannes or Berlin and find myself in awe, wondering how on earth this became my job.”
