Need to know: Creative producer Jim Wilson has more than three decades of experience in the industry, and in 2024 won his first Oscar and Bafta, for longtime collaborator Jonathan Glazer’s The Zone Of Interest. The Holocaust drama had its world premiere at Cannes and grossed $36.5m at the global box office.

The one-man-band producer started out as a junior executive in the US at Fox Searchlight (now Searchlight Pictures) in the 1990s, before returning to the UK in 1998 to work at Film4 during the era of Sexy Beast (his first project with Glazer) and The Last King Of Scotland. He pivoted into full-time producing after leaving Film4 in 2002.

Film4 is still a regular partner of London-born Wilson, as is A24 and BBC Film. Further credits include Lynne Ramsay’s You Were Never Really Here (2017), Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard’s 20,000 Days On Earth (2014) and Glazer’s Under The Skin (2013). He also lends his hand as an executive producer from time to time, as with Savanah Leaf’s Bafta 2024 winner Earth Mama.

Key personnel: Jim Wilson, producer.

Incoming: Wilson is coming off the back of a busy festival season, as a producer on Kaouther Ben Hania’s Venice premiere The Voice Of Hind Rajab, which won the grand jury prize and has been selected as Tunisia’s Oscar entry in the best international feature category. He is also a producer on Aneil Karia’s Hamlet starring Riz Ahmed, which premiered at Telluride, and remains an ongoing collaborator of Glazer.

Jim Wilson says: “I did work for financier-distributors for a very long time. I’ve been quite supported by groups of companies that, although the people have moved around, have remained consistent.”
