Tom Tykwer's The Princess And The Warrior and Lars von Trier's Dancer In The Dark are among eight titles to receive distribution funding from the German Federal Film Board (FFA). Dancer is being distributed by Constantin while Tykwer's film will be released by X Verleih.

The other titles to receive support are: Rainer Kaufmann's Kalt Ist Der Abendhauch (Senator Film), Farhad Yawari's Dolphins, Xavier Koller's Gripsholm (Kinowelt), Vanessa Jopp's Forget America (Arthaus), Ulrich Edel's The Little Vampire and Miguel Alexandre's Gran Paradiso (both Warner Bros).

The dubbing of Leander Hausmann's acclaimed Sonnenallee into English was also subsidised. The nine films received the combined sum of $3.55m (DM7.79m).

The FFA also selected 47 theatres that will receive interest-free loans ranging from DM8,500 to DM290,000 for modernisation. Total funding in this area amounted to just over $2.7m (DM6m).

The FFA's next funding round will be announced on November 15 or 16 this year. Deadline for applications is September 30.
