Michael Dwyer, the respected Irish Times film critic and chairman of the Dublin Film Festival, died on January 1 following an illness. He was 58 years old.
Dwyer wrote for the Irish Times for more than 20 years. Previously he was a critic for the Sunday Tribune, TheSunday Press and In Dublin. He also co-founded the Dublin Film Festival in 1985.
The funeral will take place in Dublin on January 5. He is survived by his partner Brian and mother Mary.
