Berlin-based sales company’s slate includes Guilty of Romance, Iris in Bloom.

Berlin-based Films Boutique will be handling international distribution for two films invited to screen in this year’s line-up for Cannes’ Directors’ Fortnight sidebar and has market premieres of another two titles in the Marché du Film.

Japanese filmmaker Sion Sono will be making his first appearance in Cannes with the world premiere of the erotically charged crime noir Guilty Of Romance [pictured] which links three women — a detective, a professor and a desperate housewife — in some strange way.

In addition, Films Boutique is represented in the sidebar by En Ville (Iris In Bloom) co-directed by Valérie Mréjen and Bertrand Schefer, following the course of a relationship between a 16-year-old girl in a small provincial town with a 40-year-old photographer from Paris, which will turn their lives upside down.

The market premieres lined up by Films Boutique for Cannes so far are:

Pinku icon Shinji Imaoka’s fantasy musical Underwaterlove which had its world premiere at last week’s Tribeca Film Festival.

Garri Bardin’s plasticine animation film The Ugly Duckling which had its international premiere on Locarno Film Festival’s Piazza Grande last August.
