Paris-based sales agent Films Distribution will handle international sales on Benjamin Heisenberg's second feature The Robber (Der Räuber) which completed a first block of shooting last week in Lower Austria and Vienna, including scenes during the 25th Vienna City Marathon.

The film is based on the novel of the same name by Martin Prinz about the true story, set at the end of the 1980s, of 'Pumpgun Ronnie' who combined a criminal career as a serial bank robber with his talent as a record-breaking marathon runner.

Andreas Lust (Revanche) and Franziska Weisz (Dog Days) star in the Austrian-German co-production between Vienna-based Nikolaus Geyrhalter Filmproduktion and Munich's Peter Heilrath Filmproduktion, which has been backed by the Austrian Film Institute, broadcasters ORF and ZDF/Arte, the Vienna Film Fund, the Land of Lower Austria, FFF Bayern and the German Federal Film Board (FFA).

A second block of four weeks shooting is scheduled from the end of October in Lower Austria and Vienna, with planned delivery for spring 2009.

Heisenberg's feature debut Sleeper (Schläfer), which was also his graduation film from Munich's Academy for Television & Film (HFF), had its world premiere in Un Certain Regard in 2005 and subsequently won prizes in Berlin, Geneva, Angers and Saarbrücken, among others.
