Canadian genre film distributor Evokative Films has picked up local rights for Korean horror film Hansel And Gretel from Fine Cut.

The film, directed by Yim Phil-sung, recently won a special mention from the European Federation of Fantastic Film Festivals Jury at the Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival (PiFan) and is due to be the closing film of the Dragons and Tigers section at the Vancouver International Film Festival.

It will also screen in the upcoming Sitges International Fantasy Film Festival and London Film Festival.

Founded a few months ago, Evokative will be concentrating its activities in the home entertainment market with limited theatrical releases for most of its titles. The companies' acquisitions include Japanese film Adrift In Tokyo and French films The Killer and Black.
