The Sheffield InternationalDocumentary Film Festival has appointed Fleur Knopperts as industry andmarketplace director.

Knopperts, who will move to Sheffield in February 2007, was formerly managing director of The Forum at theInternational Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA). She will follow inthe footsteps of former IDFA employee David Teigeler, who joined the Docfestteam in August as film programmer.

"Fleur has a strong reputationin the industry for developing markets and attracting a stream of highlyacclaimed buyers," said festival director Heather Croall. "The Docfest willreally benefit from her expertise, as we begin to build the Meetmarket."

Sheffield Docfest had itsmost successful year in 2006, attracting more than 1,000 delegates. The Docfesttour begins in January 2007.
