Fortissimo Films has seen a healthy first market for its documentary Annie Leibovitz: Life Through a Lens. The film sold to Haut et Court for France and Lucky Red for Italy, with deals to Germany, Japan, Australia and Benelux pending.

'Berlin is always a good market for us. We've done well with new films and have cleaned up others from Venice, Toronto, and AFM,' says Wouter Barendrecht, co-chief of Fortissimo.

Martin Scorsese's Rolling Stones documentary has sold to Vertigo for Spain, Kinowelt for Germany, Wild Bunch has it for France and BIM for Italy, RCV for Benelux, Tohokoshinsha for Japan, Imagene for Brazil, and Lusomundo for Portugal.

Paramount is distributing it domestically in the US and 20th Century Fox has it for the UK and Australia.

The film is looking at plans for a worldwide simultaneous release in September.

Wong Kar-wai's Ashes of Time Redux has sold to Vertigo for Spain, BIM for Italy, A Films for Benelux, Proobtoki for Greece, United King for Israel, and Lusomondo for Portugal.
