FortissimoFilms is to handle worldwide sales outside of North America forTheNight Listener, the recently wrapped film adaptation of Armistead Maupin'sbestselling drama, directed by Patrick Stettner and starring Robin Williams andToni Collette.

FortissimoFilm's co-chairmen, Michael J. Werner and Wouter Barendrecht who receiveco-producercredits,completed the deal with UTA, which represent theproducers Hart Sharp Entertainment, along with Michael Hogan, COO of HartSharp.

Maupin,best known for his series of Tales of the City novels, adapted thescreenplay, along with Terry Anderson and Stettner. Thefilmwasshotinlocation inNew York andpost-productionhas just begun.

TheNight Listenertells thestory of a popularnight-time radio show host (Williams)who gets drawn intothelife ofone ofhiscallers(Collette).Whenhe steps outofhisrole ashost and starts to become moreof an investigator, his lifebegins to spiral out of controlasdisturbing questions are raisedregarding the caller'strueidentity.

Thefilm is financed through Hart Sharp's True Film Fund II.John Hart,Jeffrey Sharp, Robert Kessel and Jill Footlick will produce, with Maupin andTerry Anderson acting as executive producers along with Hogan.
