Freestyle Releasing has scheduled a May 4 North American release for Jeff Renfroe's pyschological thriller Civic Duty after picking up domestic rights.

Peter Krause stars as a happily married accountant who becomes obsessed with America's war on terrorism after he loses his job. Richard Schiff, Kari Matchett, Ian Tracey and Egyptian actor Khaled Abol Naga also star.

Andrew Lanter, Tina Pehme, Kim Roberts, Krause and Andrew Joiner produced and Joiner wrote the screenplay.

'Civic Duty keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish and definitely has you questioning what you would do if you thought your new neighbour might be a terrorist,' Freestyle co-chief Susan Jackson said.

Freestyle is distributing Civic Duty on behalf of Andrew Lanter's Landslide Pictures in association with Sepia Films. London-based Intandem Films is handling foreign sales.
