According to an SEC filing on October 22, Icahn sold 3m shares between October 10-22 to take advantage of the 457% rise in shares since he acquired a little over 9% of the company 14 months ago.
The trade leaves Icahn with a 4.5% stake in Netflix.
Shares closed at $322 on Tuesday after spiking close to $400 on Monday.
