Bosniandirector Pjer Zalica's Fuse was awarded the main prize in thecompetition section at the 17th Panorama of European Cinema (Oct 1-14) inAthens which wrapped with a gala presentation of Ken Loach's Ae FondKiss.

The award, offered by the organiser of the event,Athens daily newspaper Elefterotypia, includes apurse worth Euros 6,000 to back the local release of the picture.

A special mention went to theU.K.-Irish co-production Freeze Frame directed by John Simpson.

The five member international jurywas headed by veteran Swedish actor Max Von Sydow.

The Fipresci jury headed by Britishfilm critic Ronald Bergan gave its award to the Czech production Champions by newcomer Marek Najbrt.
