GEM Entertainment has taken UK and US rights to seven features from UK-based Global Films, EdgeImageBank, Norwood Pictures, and Mnemonics Pictures.
Nick Peterson, also known as a musician under the name Virtual Alien, directed all of the films.
Five that will be released on DVD are: Writing On The Wall, about a young man's life depicted through graffiti, Nigerian documentary Burning From The Inside, Paul Gambaccini documentary Digital Broadcast, brothers drama Speed Of Light, making-of documentary Speed Of Life, and Complete Map Of The Universe, about a reality TV game show.
Also, two of the features will get US theatrical release through digital cinema screens in February 2008. They are Knocking On Heaven's Door, a drama about seven people looking back over their lives. The film was shot in Los Angeles and the UK and its cast includes Alex Hall. In and Out of Planet Earth, about a killer who tries to end his life, also stars Hall and Mark Joseph, Dolly Di Rosso and Jenia Emmanuelle. Writing On The Wall will also get a short theatrical run.
GEM will also release a collection of Virtual Alien videos.
