Directors of photography Peter Nix (Wie Feuer Und Flamme) and Hans-Guenther Buecking (Der Tanz Mit Dem Teufel) were among the prize-winners at this year's German Camera Awards in Cologne, which also included an Honorary Award for veteran cinematographer Juergen Juerges.

Other Awards went to Matthias Fleischer for the short Der Kuscheldoktor, Joseph McCarthy for Attacke WTC 11.09.01, Peter Moers for Die Baustelle Des Herrn, and to Juergen Eichinger for the documentary Geheimnisvolle Flusslandschaft.

This year's Euro 5,000 Support Prizes for up-and-coming cinematographers were awarded to Boerres Weiffenbach and Jana Marsik, while the winner in the film editing category was Hansjoerg Weissbrich for his work on Deutsche Columbia Pictures' Was Tun, Was Brennt. Katja Dringenberg was given a Special Mention for her editing on the German Film Prize-winner Black Box Germany (Black Box BRD).
