Der Schuh Des Manitu, a western parody by alternative German comedian Michael "Bully" Herbig. attracted 203,000 admissions on Thursday July 19 making it the most successful Thursday opening ever for a German film, beating the previous record-holder Werner - Das Muss Kesseln!!! (198,000).

In addition, the film, a co-production between Herbig's own company herbXfilm and Constantin Film, exceeded Constantin's own previous strongest performer American Pie, the top film at the box-office in 2000.
