The latest episode in the Werner comic book franchise, Werner - Gekotzt Wird Spaeter!, slipped out of the top ten this week after just barely making the 1m admissions mark while another Constantin Film release Wrong Turn bowed at No. 6 with almost Euros 500,000.

Speaking at last week's annual shareholders assembly Constantin's CFO Daniel Wiest noted that the $15m taken by Wrong Turn at the US box office and the new Werner film's performance were "below expectations".

Elsewhere, UIP's release of American Pie: The Wedding has held onto the top spot for the second week despite being boycotted by over 140 cinemas because of a controversial new rentals system.

However, the gross-out comedy's first weekend (Aug 21-24) was some 50% below the opening performance of the predecessor - American Pie 2 - which was seen by 1.5m compared to Number 3's 704,211 admissions from 635 prints.
