Julia Roberts' lasting appeal in Germany was underscored by its No. 1 position on the opening weekend for Columbia TriStar's Mona Lisa Smile with Euros 2.8m from 600 screens, while the Eddie Murphy-starrer The Haunted Mansion topped the Euros 2m mark at No. 3.
Lost In Translation may have slipped down the charts, but its screen average of $4,770 was still higher than that for any one of the new entries in the top 10. But that was nothing compared to the remarkable $11,448 average clocked up by Turkish film Hababam Sinifi Merhaba from its 30 prints which propelled it into the top 10 at eight in what was a rather lacklustre weekend as far as cinema attendances were concerned
