GreeneStreet Films (GSF) has optioned Craig Clevenger's psychological thriller The Contortionist's Handbook through its development finance deal with private financier Sriram Das.

Das will produce with GSF the story of a master forger who creates a string of new identities for himself as he runs from a traumatic past.

When he falls in love with a woman he teaches her everything he knows and prepares to take her with him in the guise of a new identity. But she may not be all that she seems.

'Our partnership with Sriram continues to thrive with The Contortionist's Handbook,' GSF founding partner and president John Penotti said.

'After reading Clevenger's novel, we were captivated by the material. We look forward to finding the perfect writer and director to do justice to this riveting, psychological thriller.'

GSF's director of development Melanie Shanley, who introduced Das to the company last year, will oversee the project for GSF.

GSF's vice president of business and legal affairs Brian Kornreich negotiated the option with Jeff Aghassi at The Alpern Group.
