Shooting has begun on UK independent film Love/Loss, which marks British actress Virginia McKenna’s return to the big screen after 11 years.

Written and directed by documentary film-maker Guy Daniels, Love/Loss is about two childhood sweethearts who are reunited after 60 years. McKenna stars opposite Keith Michell, who won an Emmy and a Bafta for his role in the 1970 BBC series The Six Wives Of Henry VIII.

Diana Quick, who won a Bafta for her performance in the 1981 BBC series of Brideshead Revisited also stars, alongside Strictly Come Dancing’s Len Goodman, who makes a guest appearance.

McKenna is most famous for her role in the 1996 film Born Free, for which she won a Golden Globe.

Love/Loss is being produced by Gitte Daniels for Gadabout Productions, and is shooting entirely on location in Hertfordshire, UK. It has yet to secure distribution.
