Following the recent releases of Vendome’s Source Code (pictured) and Larry Crowne, the company has announced a weighty hire in the shape of the veteran producer and former New Line executive who briefly led Paramount Vantage after serving as its head buyer.

As president of production Stodel will report to Vendome CEO and president Philippe Rousselet and co-CEO Fabrice Gianfermi. It is understood Stodel will also focus on assembling two or three commercial international projects each year.

Stodel spent the last two years as an independent producer setting up among other projects the American remake of French comedy Le Mac starring Ed Helms. 

In 2009 he stepped up to run Paramount Vantage following the departure of Nick Meyer, after serving as evp of production and acquisitions. At Paramount he also oversaw worldwide acquisitions.

Prior to that he was svp of acquisitions and co-productions at New Line, during which time the studio bought The Orphanage, The Upside of Anger, Laws Of Attraction andThe Sea Inside. Before that he served as vp of acquisitions and co-productions at Lionsgate.
