Production isunderway in Rwanda on HBO Films' ...Sometimes In April, which stars Debra Winger as a USofficial during the Rwandan genocide of the mid-1990s.

The US-Frenchco-production between HBO Films and Cinefacto is being directed by Raoul Peck (Lumumba), who also wrote the screenplay andserves as co-executive producer along with Joel Stillerman. Sam Martin is theHBO executive in charge of production.

Set in 1994 andpresent-day, the picture stars Winger as an interventionist State Departmentstaffer and Idris Elba (from HBO's The Wire) as a former Rwandan soldier whosebrother is charged with war crimes.

Oris Erhuero (Highlander:Endgame), PamelaNomvete, Carole Karemera and Fraser James also star in the project, which isdue to film in Paris in March and in Washington DC.

"It is a pleasure to be working again with Raoul Peck,whom we feel will accomplish a highly authentic visualisation of the eventssurrounding the Rwandan genocide, shot on location in many of the verylocations where the events took place," HBO president Colin Callender said in astatement.

"It is a powerful piece andthe fact that many of the young Rwandans on the production team are survivorsis extraordinary."
