New York-based Cinetic Rights Management has made its first foray into the international market, through a slate of films offered online at UK-based broadband portal Blinkbox.
In the US, Cinetic has deals with sites such as Hulu, Amazon, Netflix and iTunes — all of which offer the Cinetic content exclusively to American viewers.
The Blinkbox Cinetic offerings, available here, will be adding new titles each month. The initial 11 films include James Marsh’s documentary The Team; Ari Vena & Chris Talbott’s documentary World’s Best Prom; and Paul Todisco’s fictional feature One Day Like Rain, starring Jesse Eisenberg.
Cinetic’s Matt Dentler said “this is just the first in many upcoming announcements about Cinetic films making their way to European film audiences online.”
He added: “This is our way of opening up the potential audiences for great indie films that otherwise do not see theatrical or home video releases abroad.”
