New projects on Screenbase include a remake of Dario Argento’s Suspiria, UK drama Having You starring Romola Garai, as well as Petit with Kim Basinger taking the lead role.

David Gordon Green is to direct the remake of Dario Argento’s 1970s thriller Suspiria. He also co-wrote the screenplay together with Chris Gebert. Italy’s First Sun  and Memo Films will produce alongside LA-based Crime Scene Pictures. Shooting is planned for this September and Wild Bunch acquired world-wide rights.

Romola Garai, Anna Friel and Andy Buchan have been cast in Having You, which centres on a man’s relationship, which is tested when a long forgotten one-night stand arrives on the scene and introduces him to his son. Sam Hoare will direct from his own screenplay. Principal photography on this Holland Park Pictures production will start on Monday (16) and last through May 13.

Anders Morgenthaler will direct Petit, a drama about a woman in her late 40s who seems to have everything - power, wealth, beauty and love –, yet her life is dominated by an all-consuming desire to have a child. Kim Basinger will star alongside Sebastian Schipper, Sophie Rois and Jordan Prentice among others. The German-Danish-Norwegian co-production is produced by Zentropa Denmark, Zentropa International Berlin, One Two Films and Filmhuset Norge. The Danish Film Institute and Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein provided financial backing. Shooting is scheduled to take place this summer in Hamburg. TrustNordisk has been appointed to handle international sales and Farbfilm will release in Germany.
