Kevin Hyman has joined Universal Pictures' specialty films unit Focus Features as executive vice president of physical production. Hyman, who previously worked at Miramax Films, will be in charge of physical production and post-production on Focus' in-house productions and will oversee post-production on other Focus acquisitions. He will be based at the company's Manhattan offices and will report directly to Focus president of production Glenn Williamson, while working closely with co-presidents David Linde and James Schamus.

In a statement Williamson said: "Kevin is one of the smartest executives and troubleshooters in the business - he has an excellent reputation in the worldwide film community, and he has attained unmatched expertise in overseeing movies of all different shapes and sizes."

Hyman joined Miramax in 1996 as senior vice president of physical production before being promoted to executive vice president of physical production. During his time at Miramax he oversaw 100 films in less than seven years, including the Scream trilogy, Good Will Hunting and Shakespeare In Love.
