Fox International's sci-fithriller I, Robot continued its100% number one opening record at the weekend as a major bow in Australia drove$5.5m in ticket sales from 916 screens in nine territories.
I, Robot opened on $3.3m on 346 screens Down Under for thedistributor's seventh biggest ever opening there, while Singapore produced$538,000 on 59, the Philippines yielded $431,000 on 110 and New Zealandproduced $397,000 on 60.
I, Robot has grossed $7.6m to date from the early stages ofits international run.
Meanwhile the live-action Garfield adaptation raised its international running total by$3.5m from 1,105 screens in 12 territories to $12.2m.
Highlights were a secondweekend $1.1m haul on 487 in Mexico, where the picture remained top andelevated its running total to an impressive $5m.
Garfield added $957,000 on 275 in Brazil and remained top on$3.1m after two weekends. The picture opened in second place in Taiwan on$394,000 on 91.
