IFCFilms is planning a limited US theatrical release for Kirby Dick's censorshipdocumentary This Film Is Not Yet Ratedand in a fitting snub to the powers that be will not submit it to the MPAA fora rating.

Thedistributor plans a Sept 1 launch in New York and Los Angeles and will expandbeyond that. This Film Is Not Yet Ratedis scheduled to play at the Los Angeles Film Festival on Jun 29.

IFCTelevision produced the picture and the IFC network will air an uncut versionat a later date to be confirmed.

Dick'sfollow-up to his Oscar nominated documentary Twist Of Fate attempts to explore the whys and wherefores of the MPAA'sratings policy and assess its impact on American culture.

FilmmakersDarren Aronofsky, Mary Harron, Atom Egoyan, John Waters and Kevin Smith, andformer UA president Bingham Ray are among the talking heads.

"Notonly is this an important film, it is one that spoke to audiences and criticsat this year's Sundance and we believe will find an audience nationwide,"IFC Entertainment president Jonathan Sehring said.

"Weare proud to work with our network colleagues, who produced this documentarywith great passion, and are thrilled to bring a theatrica release to thetable."

FortissimoFilms is handling international sales on the film.
