Colombianphotojournalist Scott Dalton's La Sierra won the documentary feature directoraward and a $10,000 grant at the IFP/New York's IFP Market Awardsyesterday (23), which honour works-in-progress by established and emergingfilmmakers.

Andrea Williamsclaimed $10,000 and the directing prize for A Spoonful Of Sugar, while Seith Mann's Come Sunday took home two awards and two $10,000grants in the screenwriting and the emerging narrative screenwriting awardcategories.

Mann was thewinner of last year's Gordon Parks Award for directing for his short film FiveDeep Breaths.

Bernardo Loyolawon $5,000 and the emerging narrative short film award for The Perfect Day, while Mark Sobel's TheCommission earned$160,000 in goods and services in the emerging narrative work-in-progresscompletion award.

'The number of entries and calibre of work beingsubmitted to the market is improving each year,' IFP/New York executivedirector Michelle Byrd said in a statement.

'The market has alwaysserved to foster new projects for emerging filmmakers, but we are particularlyexcited to be able to help filmmakers financially through the IFP Market Awardsprogramme.'
