Independent Feature Project/West, the non-profit organisation for independent film-makers, is to take over production of the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival (LAIFF), the April event which to date has been staged by the LA Film Collaborative (LAFC). It will now be incorporated as an ongoing program of IFP/West.

Festival director Richard Raddon, programming director Thomas Ethan Harris and marketing/publicity director RJ Millard will stay on to organise the festival.

IFP/West first became involved with the festival when it co-produced this year's event which took place April 13-18.

The deal was negotiated by IFP/West executive director Dawn Hudson, managing director Michael Harrison and general counsel Michael Donaldson with the LAFC president and festival founder Robert Faust and festival managing director Linda Rattner.

This year's LAIFF included world premiere screenings of Shirley Maclaine's Bruno and David Gordon Green's George Washington.
