Fox's Robert Harper to head Regency

Fox Filmed Entertainment vice-chairman Robert Harper has been named chairman and chief executive officer of Regency Filmed Entertainment. He replaces David Matalon who left the company earlier this month to return to his own production company. Harper will oversee Fox-based Regency's film production unit, New Regency Productions, as well as Regency Television.

Katherine Lee joins ARM

Hong Kong's ARM Distribution has appointed Katherine Lee to the newly created role of vice-president of distribution. Lee was formerly senior vice-president, distribution, at Hong Kong's Filmko Entertainment and has been an independent producer. Walsh leaves Goldcrest for Independent

Abigail Walsh replaces Ana Ayesta as head of sales at the UK's Independent, the international sales and production company established by Luc Roeg. Walsh, who was previously director of sales at Goldcrest Films, will work alongside managing director Andrew Orr and head of marketing Sarah Goodwin.

Volland promoted in Warner Bros PR

Lance Volland has been promoted to senior vice-president of publicity at Warner Bros Pictures International. Volland, who joined the studio in 1998 as a director and most recently served as vice-president, will head the studio's international publicity department. He will be based in Burbank and report to marketing president Sue Kroll.

Monga to join Seattle programme team

Anita Monga has been hired as a senior programmer at the Seattle International Film Festival (Siff). She will primarily focus on programming the new Siff Cinema. She moves from San Francisco, where she worked for the Castro Theatre and the Palm Springs festivals.

Du Toit returns to Palm Springs role

The Palm Springs International Film Festival has announced that Helen du Toit will return as co-director of programming alongside the current director of programming Carl Spence for the 2008 edition.
