Capoteproducer Infinity Media is preparing Mike The Bike, a biography based on the life oflegendary British motorcycle world champion Mike Hailwood.

Hailwood, voted the greatestmotorcyclist of all time in a recent worldwide poll, won the world championship10 times in the 1960s and 1970s before a near-fatal crash left him crippled.

"Mike The Bike tells the story of Hailwood's remarkable comeback after more thana decade out of racing," Infinity's Michael Ohoven, who will produce theproject, said.

"Despite being told hewill never race again because of his injuries, and angry at being written offby the new generation, he sets out to prove them wrong by becoming worldchampion all over again. He succeeds against all the odds.

"The film fits perfectly into Infinity's vision of developingand producing high quality, commercially driven films with broad internationalappeal."

Writer-producer Paul Pender, who worked with Infinity on thePierce Brosnan drama Evelyn, brought the project to Infinity after he obtained the rightsfrom Hailwood's widow Pauline earlier this year.

"I'mconfident that we've found with Infinity the possible home for Mike The Bike," Pender, who is writing the screenplay, said."As Michael Ohoven and his producing partner Bill Vince have demonstratedwith Capote, the company isenormously talent-friendly and superb at nurturing scripts."

Pender is representedby attorney Craig Emanuel at Loeb and Loeb.
