Intermedia Film EquitiesUSA and Kadokawa Pictures USA have extended their agreement and signed amulti-picture deal to develop, finance and produce up to six Intermedia picturesto be made in 2006 and 2007.

The new deal is a significant step in Intermedia Film Equities USAparent company Internationalmedia's foray into genre production.

The expanded deal is in addition to the original co-development, co-productionand co-financing agreement for the English language remake of Japanese title OneMissed Call, announcedback in June.

That picture tells the story of a girl who listens to hervoicemail and hears herself being killed three days in the future.

The screenplay, written by Every Word Is True and True Crime screenwriter Andrew Klavan, is currentlyout to directors.

Kadokawa Pictures USA's Lauren C Weissman and Jennie Lew Tugendand Scott Kroopf, president of Intermedia's motion picture group, will producethe project, which is scheduled to go into production in early 2006.

CAA brokered thedeal and will be involved on the subsequent distribution arrangements. SummitEntertainment will handle foreign sales with distribution through IS FilmDistribution, Intermedia and Summit's joint marketing and distribution venture.
