Eugene Jareckiis to host a closed screening at the European Parliament in Strasbourg today(Apr 8) of his award wining BBC documentary The Trials Of Henry Kissinger.

Jarecki producedand directed the picture, which asks whether the former US diplomat should facecrimes against humanity charges for his role in US covert operations in Chile,Cambodia and East Timor.

After thepresentation Jarecki will address European politicians on the state of globaljustice and American foreign policy since the Vietnam era.

The Trials OfHenry Kissinger is basedon the book by journalist Christopher Hitchens, one of several featuredpolitical commentators that includes fellow journalist Seymour Hersch andRonald Reagan's former secretary of state Alexander Haig.

The picture has won plauditsin more than 30 international territories and went on limited release in the USlast year through First Run Features.

It was recently acquired bythe Sundance Channel in the US and launched the DOCday weekly documentaryprogramming strand. Next broadcasts are on Apr 20 and 28.

The Trials OfHenry Kissinger won the2002 Amnesty International DOEN Award at the Amsterdam International FilmFestival.
