Jim Broadbent has joined the cast of Steven Spielberg's Indiana Jones 4, which has begun principal photography and will be released by Paramount on May 22, 2008.
It is understood Broadbent will play a mentor figure to Harrison Ford's titular character, along the lines of Dr Marcus Brody played by the late Denholm Elliot in the first and third films.
Recently announced cast members for the fourth instalment include Cate Blanchett, Ray Winstone, John Hurt and Shia LaBeouf.
Frank Marshall returns as producer with Kathleen Kennedy joining George Lucas as executive producer.
