UK-based media law firm Wiggin is launching a new film and TV packaging service as of Sept 5.

Josephine Rose, previously  Head of Acquisitions and Development at Goldcrest Films, will run the new division. She has recently produced Bushido 3D and co-produced The Dark Half.

She will work with Wiggin partners Charles Moore and Miles Ketley, who both have worked on packaging on a bespoke business.

The team working in packaging will source finance and distribution deals for content owners across the media landscape, and will do so on an entrepreneurial basis instead of usual legal fee structures.

Wiggin has already worked in a similar way for films including The Eagle, Venus and The History Boys. They have also worked on financing and distribution deals for BBC Earth’s Walking With Dinosaurs 3D and another two films for the company.

Wiggin’s film and TV group recently added Neil Gillard and Vickie Cameron.

Wiggin’s clients also include All3Media, BBC Worldwide, BT, Channel 4, Columbia Pictures, Discovery, Disney, Fox, HBO, Ingenious, Paramount Pictures, Virgin Media and Warner Bros.
