SimonKenny has been promoted to executive vice president, Europe, and Jose 'Pepe'Abad has been promoted to the new post of senior vice president, SouthernEurope, at Warner Bros International Television Distribution (WBITD).

Kenny,who joined WBITD as senior vice president, Europe, last year, will continue tooversee the company's European sales force based in London, Paris, Madrid, Romeand Munich that is responsible for television sales throughout Europe, Africaand the Middle East. Based in London, he reports to WBITD president Jeffrey RSchlesinger.

Abadis an eight-year veteran of WBITD and will move up from managing director,Spain and Portugal, and expand his brief to include oversight of Italy, and, aspreviously announced, Greece, Turkey and Cyprus. He is based in Madrid andreports to Kenny.

"Simonand Pepe are valuable members of our senior staff," Schlesinger said in astatement. "In a relatively short amount of time since joining us, Simon'sleadership, expertise and instincts have contributed greatly to our continuedgrowth in Europe.

"Pepehas made considerable contributions to our business in Spain and Portugal andwe are certain that he can manage and grow our business to these newterritories that we've added to his portfolio.'

Kennyarrived at WBITD from Disney, where he worked for more than a decade, havingjoined the company as director of barter sales to develop Disney's programmedistribution operation in Eastern Europe, India and China. By 2000 he had risento senior vice president and managing director of the Walt Disney InternetGroup, Europe.

Abadjoined WBITD as a sales executive for Spain and Portugal in 1996 and waspromoted to managing director, Spain and Portugal three years later and for acouple of years served as joint managing director, Spain and Portugal for WBITDand Turner Broadcasting System.

Priorto WBITD he served in acquisitions and co-productions and as head of programmeacquisitions at Televisio Valenciana.
