Koch Lorber Films has picked up Israeli film-maker Ido Haar's documentary 9 Star Hotel from Israeli-based Eden Productions and plans an immediate US release.

The Arabic and Hebrew-language film in English subtitles is receiving its North American Premiere in competition at Tribeca and will launch at New York's Film Forum on May 23 followed by a nationwide roll-out. A DVD release is planned for the fourth quarter.

The film charts the daily struggles of Palestinian construction workers who live behind the Separation Fence in Israeli-occupied territory and secretly work inside Israel.

'9 Star Hotel is a powerful and humanity-filled film from a very talented new voice on the international documentary scene,' Koch Lorber Films president Richard Lorber said. 'Timely and compelling, it's sure to inform, generate discussion and emotion as only the best in non-fiction cinema can.'
