LosAngeles-based distributor of home entertainment content LiberationEntertainment has established a London office and appointed Spencer Pollardmanaging director.

Thewholly owned company will be called Liberation Entertainment Ltd and will acquirefeature and television content out of the UK and Europe as well as selling andmarketing the existing library.

Pollardis assembling staff to handle finance, sales and marketing and will report toLiberation Entertainment chairman and chief executive officer Jay Boberg.

A DVDdistribution deal in the UK and various European territories is expected to beannounced shortly.

"Iam very excited to be joining Liberation and am looking forward to establishingour business as a real global force in the home entertainment world,"Pollard, who previously served at Sanctuary Records Group as vice president ofcommercial development at Sanctuary Visual Entertainment, said.

"Thekey executives Liberation has put together will give us an excellent strategicfocus enabling us to maximise audiovisual business opportunities."

"Spencer'sand my relationships will help us be very aggressive in both acquisitions andDVD marketing and sales in England and across the continent."

Pollard'sresponsibilities at Liberation will include marketing and sales of thecompany's 250-plus title library, which includes The Return Of Superfly starring Samuel L Jackson, Steele's Law starring Fred Williamson, and Beverly Hills Brats, which stars Peter Billingsly and Martin Sheen.
