Los Angeles-based Laguna Productions has picked up exclusive North American DVD rights from Amadeus Pictures to Damian Chapa's English-language spy thriller Fuego.

Chapa stars as an incarcerated special forces veteran who signs up for a suicide mission to save the Mexican President's daughter. David Carradine also stars.

'We are thrilled to add Fuego to our DVD offerings, which also include such recent co-productions with Amadeus as El Padrino 2, Mexican American and El Chicano,' Laguna Productions president Elart Coello said. 'Damian's work has high appeal to Latin audiences and we believe Fuego will be very well received by film lovers in the US and Canada.'

'I've shared a great partnership with Elart Coello and Laguna Productions for many years now,' Chapa said. 'Laguna is the premier film production and distribution company servicing the Latin market, and I'm delighted to be working together again with them to distribute Fuego throughout the US and Canada.'

Chapa is currently producing the unauthorised biopic Polanski.
