Lakeshore Entertainment has boarded Nia Vardalos' directorial debut I Hate Valentine's Day, in which she will reunite on screen with her My Big Fat Greek Wedding co-star John Corbett.

Production is set to begin on June 23 on the story of a carefree florist who charms a wary restaurateur into trying her theory of no-strings-attached dating.

Blue Star Entertainment's William Sherak and Jason Shuman and My Bench Productions' Madeleine Sherak will produce. The film is fully financed by David Hutkin and Vivian Tarn at ICB Entertainment Finance. Michael Barnes brokered the Lakeshore deal.

'I am so happy John jumped in and really look forward to working with him (and kissing him) again,' Vardalos said. 'I feel very fortunate to receive the support from the producers and many talented people as I direct my first film.'

Vardalos recently completed My Life In Ruins with Richard Dreyfuss, Harland Williams and Rachel Dratch. It has its world premiere here. She is represented by CAA, Peter Safran Company and attorney Jon Moonves.

Corbett will next be seen in Baby On Board opposite Heather Graham, Jerry O'Connell and Lara Flynn Boyle. He is represented by CAA and Steve Lovett.

Lakeshore Entertainment is also selling its remake of Fame, which has proved to be a huge hit among buyers.
